SLZ, an AI and AR-based smart construction technology company, hosted a special lecture and product demonstration focusing on AR/AI-based smart construction at its R&D center on November 13th. The event featured Dr. Bernard Kress, a renowned expert in XR (Extended Reality) optics and Director of XR at Google, who is known for his work on Google Glass and Microsoft HoloLens.
During the session, SLZ showcased its core smart construction solutions, demonstrating their technological structure and real-world applications. The featured solutions included:
ROUTi-AI: AI-based MEP design automation.
ROUTi-AR: AR-based design-to-construction compliance verification.
BuildAR: Real-time augmentation solution utilizing drones and BIM (Building Information Modeling).
Converse: An automation platform for site operations and communication.
Wearing an AR headset, Dr. Kress personally experienced SLZ's AR-based construction verification and digital twin visualization capabilities. He expressed significant interest in SLZ's AR algorithm configuration, visualization processing methods, and the real-time utilization process of these technologies on construction sites.
Following the demonstration, Dr. Kress delivered a keynote speech titled "The Future of Intelligent Construction Opened by AR" at the Siheung Future Innovation Forum, co-hosted by SLZ and Siheung City.
Mr. Jung Jae-heon, CEO of SLZ, who moderated the forum, discussed the convergence and synergy between global XR technology and smart construction technology. The discussion was further enriched by the attendance of Mr. Im Chang-ju, President of the Siheung Industry Promotion Agency, who explored possibilities for collaboration with Siheung City and the future development direction of related industries.
A representative from SLZ stated, "Dr. Bernard Kress's visit was a meaningful opportunity to confirm the potential for collaboration between the global XR technology sector and Korea's smart construction technology. We plan to further expand our AR/AI-based intelligent construction technology into the global market."
